This is a step by step tutorial on how to move an already used Multi Company Manager to another computer with different path or another operating system. This tool will rewrite all settings and company settings so the path in the settings files will be correct.

1. Download the CompanyMover.zip
   1. Open the Download folder.
   2. Move the CompanyMover.zip to the Desktop.
   3. Right click the CompanyMover.zip and Press the Extract Here Button.
2. Start the application
   1. Open the CompanyMover directory, right click the CompanyMover.jar → Proprieties → Permissions and check the Allow executing file as program checkbox.
   2. Double click the CompanyMover.jar to open it.
3. Close the MCM where it was running before and never run it again there. Copy the MCM directory and the companies directory where the downloads were saved (if it was saved to a different location then the program directory) to the new computer.
4. Application description
   1. Program directory: The location of the MCM program that you want to change
   2. Source Program Directory: The previous location where the MCM was installed.
   3. Destination Program Directory: The current location of the MCM where you want to be on the new computer.
   4. Settings file Companies Directory: The location of the companies directory on the previous location of the MCM where the files were saved.
   5. Search Companies Directory: The companies directory where to search for the different settings for the companies.
   6. Destination Companies Directory: The companies directory where the new companies settings will be saved and where the new MCM will save the files.
   7. Search for setting files in the selected companies directory: Will search for settings files in the selected Search Companies Directory folder (e.)
   8. Upload settings files to server on program start: If you check this settings the program will change the settings and the new files will be uploaded to the server.
   9. Save all settings: When pressed will save all setting files.
5. Program setup
   1. Click on the Program Directory and select the folder where the MCM is that you have copied from the other computer to the new computer.
   2. Change the Destination Program Directory so it is set to the new program directory. (By default it should be set properly)
   3. Change the Companies Directory to the directory where the old companies and the downloads are located. (By default it should be set properly)
   4. Change the Destination Companies directory to the new program companies location. (By default it should be set properly)
   5. Press the search for settings files in the selected companies directory
   6. Check the Upload settings file to server on program start if you want to update the settings saved on the server.
   7. Press the Save all setting files to save the company and the program settings to the selected location.
      
   8. If everything worked successfully you should see a Settings file saved message.
