Tacho5Safe Device Functionality
The Tacho5Safe device is designed to download data from tachographs and driver cards. This data is then transmitted to the TachoSafe Web platform for analysis. The transmission process is facilitated by the TachoSafe application, which uses Bluetooth communication to connect with a mobile phone.
Data Storage and Transfer
The Tacho5Safe device has a memory capacity of 8 MB, which is sufficient to store tachograph and driver card files. It retains these files until it establishes a connection with the TachoSafe application. Once connected, the application downloads the files from the device to the mobile phone and subsequently uploads them to the TachoSafe Web.
Standalone Usage and Memory Capacity
The Tacho5Safe can also be used as a standalone device, without the need for the TachoSafe application. However, continuous use in this mode will eventually fill the device's memory after numerous driver card and tachograph downloads.
The device's display will indicate when its storage is full.
To free up memory, you have two options:
- Using the TachoSafe application
- Connect the device to your computer using the USB cable or insert a driver card into the device.
- Open the TachoSafe application on your mobile phone.
- The application will automatically upload the files to TachoSafe Web and delete them from the device.
