To address the issues of incorrect tachograph/driver card data download or an incorrect USB mass storage label (not showing as T5S or Tacho5Safe) when connecting your device to a PC, there might be a problem with the file system.
To resolve this, please follow these steps:
- Check the device's file system:
- Right-click on the device in your PC's file explorer and select "Properties."
- Go to the "Tools" tab and click "Check."
- Click "Scan and repair drive."
- Wait for the repair process to finish, then close the window.
- Right-click on the device in your PC's file explorer and select "Properties."
- Verify hidden files:
- In Windows File Explorer, click the three dots (...) in the top menu bar and select "Options."
- Go to the "View" tab.
- Select "Show hidden files, folders, and drives."
- Uncheck the box for "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)."
- Click "Apply."
- In Windows File Explorer, click the three dots (...) in the top menu bar and select "Options."
- Check for corrupted folders:
- Open the "Tacho5Safe" mass storage device in Windows File Explorer.
- If you see a "Found.000" directory, the file system is corrupted. You will need to format the device (see step 5).
- If you do not see a "Found.000" directory, the file system is correct.
- Restore folder options:
- Return to the "View" tab in "Folder Options".
- Deselect the "Show hidden files, folders, and drives" option.
- Check the box for "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)."
- Format the device:
- Right-click on the device in your PC's file explorer and select "Format."
- Set the required parameters for the format.
- Click "Start" and wait for the formatting process to complete.
Your device's file system should now be correct.
