If your Tacho2Safe device shows an empty battery symbol and does not start, follow these steps:


Step 1: Replace the AA battery with a new one and try turning on the device again.


Step 2: If the problem persists and the battery symbol remains empty, it may be a file system error. Proceed as follows:

  1. Connect your Tacho2Safe device to your computer via USB.

  2. Open My Computer / This PC and locate the Tacho2Safe device.

  3. Copy the contents of the Download folder to a safe location on your computer.

  4. Return to My Computer / This PC, right-click the Tacho2Safe device, and select Format.

    • Choose FAT32 as the file system.

    • Ensure Quick Format is checked and start the format process.

  5. Once formatting is complete, check the device by performing a new tachograph download.
