If you see this error message:

MSG011: Authentication error: Tachograph authentication has expired or has been closed. A valid company card, control card or workshop card is inserted in the Tachograph.

And if there is a company / workshop / control card inserted in the tachograph then the download won't work.

You have to remove the company / workshop / control card from the tachograph for that the remote authentication to work properly.
