Download the latest TachoSafe RDU Configuration Tool.
Connect the terminal to the computer with a micro USB cable.
Start the Configuration Tool.
If the TachoSafe RDU Configuration Tool does not start, then please download the 32 bit version of Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022
If the device can't be recognized over the USB when you connect it, try to Enter the device in bootloader mod.
If you see in the Messages window that There is a new FW version available online!
- Select the Update page
- Click on the Update Firmware button.
After this the configuration tool will download the FW and copy it to the device. You should see the Eject USB window:
When you see it click on the arrow next to the watch on the taskbar to see the hidden icons and click on the USB pen drive icon to Safety remove the RDU drive. Select the drive with the Tachosafe label.
If everything works properly you should see a similar output window:
If you don't see the FW Changed message then the firmware was not changed!
If the Configuration tool is not responding any more, then wait for one minute at least and disconnect and reconnect the device to the USB and check if the FW update was successful or not. If not then try it again.
