If you want to update the Firmware or the Bootloader of a Remote Download Unit you have to:
- Download the latest version of the TachoSafe RDU Configuration Tool.
- Connet the RDU with an USB cable to the computer and start Configuration Tool. After connection you should see a similar output:
If you see in the bottom of the output windows that it writes that There is a new FW version available online! or / and Your Bootloader version doesn't match the online version! Then:
- Press the Update tab in the top of the Configuration tool.
- Press the Update Firmware + Bootloader button.
When the update has finished you should see in the message box that both, the FW and the Bootloader were updated successfully.
You can see in the image that both the FW and the Bootloader was updated.
If the update wasn't successful you can try to Format the file system and try again the update.
If after multiple attempts the Update fails you can try to update first the FW and then the bootloader if needed.
If after multiple attempts you can't update the device please open a ticket here.
